Our NEW Board President, Lisa Sloan is quite a woman.
Lisa was born and raised in Washington, one of six children, graduated from Washington State University in 1989 with degrees in Business - Finance and Psychology. Lisa was recruited from college by a Fortune 500 company and moved to the San Francisco bay area to start new job and adult life. Lisa worked for 11 plus years for that company in various corporate finance positions and decided it's time to make it on my own. Lisa worked as an independent finance consultant helping "dot com" start ups put together financial statements needed to "go public" for about 1 1/2 years, then....hubby was transferred to a position in Southern California and moved to the Los Angeles area in 2000, just before the big "dot bomb" crash.
Lisa discovered Waddell & Reed while searching for her next career path in LA. Connecting with the company's culture of teamwork, support and client care - their motto for over 75 years has been "Investing with a plan", which means knowing your client's goals/needs before making recommendations. Lisa went back to school to get all of the required licensing and started working with Waddell & Reed in 2001.
In 2004 along came Zachary and added 'mom' to list of accomplishments and career paths. Lisa, Jeff and Zachary moved to Bend in 2008 when Jeff took an early retirement from his corporate finance job. The Sloan's picked Bend to provide Zach with a better environment to grow up in and more freedom and opportunities to be a kid. The fast pace and congested area that is Southern California was not what they wanted for Zach. Lisa was able to transfer to Waddell & Reed's office in Bend.
As a Financial Advisor, Lisa specializes in personalized, comprehensive financial planning and helping clients put investment and insurance programs in place to meet their goals and needs. Lisa loves working with people and small businesses - and has learned so much from their "stories" and feels a great sense of accomplishment from the progress and peace of mind working together by reducing financial stress and increasing focus on wealth creation.
Lisa brings all of this experience with her as the NEW Board President and we are looking forward to the year of growth and excitement she will bring to the organization.
